Police in Puerto Rico say reggaeton rapper Julio Voltio has been arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding. Read more on Voltio’s arrest below. Police spokesman Lt. Carlos Camacho Santiago says officers pulled over Julio Voltio in a gray BMW on Sunday when he was seen driving 62 mph in a 50 mph zone in the coastal town of Luquillo. Voltio’s blood-alcohol level was at 0.08 percent, just over the legal limit. Voltio, whose real name is Julio Ramos Filomeno, could not be reached for comment. Voltio is a fixture of Puerto Rico’s homegrown reggaeton music.

NFL Receiver Reggie Williams Tasered, Arrested for Drug Possession.

HOUSTON — NFL receiver Reggie Williams was charged with drug possession after off-duty policemen used a Taser to subdue him when he refused to leave a bar.

Houston police spokesman Kese Smith says Williams was impaired when he refused to leave a bar Sunday night. He struggled with two off-duty officers who tried to escort him out and one of them used a Taser on him.

Police say jail officials later found a small bag believed to contain cocaine in Williams' back pocket. He was charged on Monday with possession of a controlled substance and freed after posting a $2,000 bond.

In February, the 25-year-old unrestricted free agent was arrested in Houston on drink driving and possession of marijuana charges, which were later dropped. He played for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Ryan O'Neal's son has been arrested for taking drugs into jail. Redmond - whose mother is cancer-stricken actress Farrah Fawcett - was caught taking narcotics into a Pitches Detention Centre in Los Angeles yesterday (05.04.09). Policespokesman Steve Whitmore said: "At about 9.30 am, our deputies did a routine security check on a car in the parking lot of one of our jails.

Redmond was driving the vehicle, and admitted to deputies he was in possession of drugs." While Redmond, 24, wasn't actually caught passing drugs onto any inmates - he claims he was dropping friends off at the facility - the parking lot is considered part of the prison and is a secure area. Redmond is currently on probation for a June 2008 driving under the influence (DUI) and drug possession conviction.

Two weeks ago, he pleaded not guilty to drug charges stemming from a September 2008 arrest. Redmond and his father were taken into police custody after drugs were found in their Malibu home. Ryan, 67, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and agreed to enroll in an 18-month drug diversion programme. He will appear in court again on July 10. Redmond remains in police custody on $25,000 bail. He will appear in court to answer the latest charges on Wednesday (07.04.09).

NFL receiver Stallworth charged with DUI manslaughter.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was charged in Florida on Wednesday with killing a pedestrian while driving under the influence, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney's office said.

Authorities charged Stallworth, 28, with DUI manslaughter in the death of Mario Reyes, said the spokesman, Ed Griffith.

Stallworth is expected to surrender in court Thursday, Griffith said. The charge is a bondable offense, and bail is expected to be set at $200,000.

According to Griffith, Stallworth's blood-alcohol level after last month's accident was measured at 0.126 percent, higher than the state's legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Stallworth released a statement four days after the incident saying he and his family were "grief-stricken."

"My thoughts and prayers are with the Reyes family during this incredibly difficult time," he said.

Cops blew the whistle on former Los Angeles Lakers great Norm Nixon when he was caught allegedly drunk driving. Nixon was called for illegal traveling by the California Highway Patrol around midnight last night when officers noticed he had no front license plate on his black Ferrari, according to TMZ.com.

Officers reportedly smelled alcohol and gave Nixon a series of sobriety tests, which the ex-point guard failed. The two-time NBA All-Star with two championships under his belt was booked and posted $5,000 bail, TMZ reported. Nixon, 53, who played with the Lakers from 1977 to 1983 then with the Clippers from '83 to '89, is married to actress/dancer Debbie Allen.

Former football star-turned-actor BRIAN BOSWORTH has been arrested for driving under the influence. The ex-NFL player, who made appearances in Three Kings and The Longest Yard, was taken into custody by cops in the early hours of Friday (06Mar07). The 43-year-old is being held in Hollywood on $5,000 bail. Bosworth played for Oklahoma before retiring three years into a 10-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks due to a shoulder injury.

Basketball great Charles Barkley began serving a three-day sentence in Arizona's infamous Tent City on Saturday, jailed by the same sheriff whose autobiography he endorsed 12 years ago.

"You come here when you screw up," Barkley said at a news conference hours after he reported at the Maricopa County jail. "I don't blame anybody for this situation but myself."

Barkley, 45, pleaded guilty last month to misdemeanor drunken-driving charges stemming from a New Year's Eve arrest after he left a Scottsdale, Arizona, nightclub.

A judge sentenced him to 10 days in jail, but his sentence was reduced in exchange for Barkley's attending an alcohol-awareness course.

At the news conference, Barkley sat next to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed "Toughest Sheriff in America." Arpaio is known for giving inmates old-fashioned, black-and-white-striped uniforms, making some of them live in tents and reinstituting chain gangs, even for women.

Basketball commentator and former hoops star Charles Barkley was arrested Wednesday in Scottsdale, Arizona, on suspicion of drunken driving, a police spokesman said. Barkley issued a brief statement, saying, "I am disappointed that I put myself in that situation. The Scottsdale police were fantastic. I will not comment any further as it is a legal matter."

Lt. Eric Shuhandler of the Gilbert Police Department said an officer pulled Barkley over after he ran a stop sign in Scottsdale's Old Town area, a trendy spot known for its nightclubs and bars. Gilbert and Scottsdale are in the Phoenix metro area.

"The officer identified the driver of the 2005 Infiniti as Charles Barkley," according to a written statement from police. "Mr. Barkley was administered the standard field sobriety tests after the odor of intoxicating liquor was detected."

At a news conference later in the day, Shuhandler said Barkley's "performance on the field sobriety test revealed there was probable cause to make an arrest."

Country singer Mindy McCready was hospitalised after she cut her wrists and took several pills in an apparent suicide attempt, Nashville police said.

A police report said McCready's brother discovered her at home on Wednesday. Timothy McCready told police his sister had been "very intoxicated" after a night out.

A hospital spokesperson said the singer was in stable condition. McCready attorney Lee Ofman said he did not have details about the situation and her publicist did not readily return a phone message early on Thursday.

TARA REID CHECKS INTO REHAB!

A publicist says Tara Reid has checked herself into rehab. Jack Ketsoyan said Friday that the "American Pie" star went to the Promises Treatment Center. He did not specify what she was being treated for or when she entered the facility.

"We appreciate your respect to her and her family's privacy at this time," he said in a statement.

Reid, 33, earned a reputation as a drunken partier after famously being photographed on a red carpet with her breast exposed, apparently unaware that the strap of her dress had fallen off.

Her film credits include "Van Wilder" and "The Big Lebowski." She also hosted the short-lived, half-hour show "Taradise" on E!

Rapper LIL' BOOSIE is facing drug and weapons charges following his arrest by Louisiana police on Wednesday (22Oct08). The Wipe Me Down star was driving in East Baton Rouge Parish on Wednesday afternoon when he was stopped by cops after they noticed the smell of marijuana wafting from his vehicle.

But when officers approached Lil' Boosie, real name Torrance Hatch, to question him about the suspected drug, he is alleged to have refused to step out of his car and driven away. The police caught up with the MC and arrested him on counts of marijuana possession, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, and attempting to evade law enforcement, reports Louisiana's The Advocate. He is currently being behind bars at the local Parish Prison and is due in court at a later date.

Pittsburgh Steeler receiver Santonio Holmes will be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in which police smelled burning marijuana and found marijuana-filled cigars in his car. He’s going to be summoned,” said police Sgt. R. Griffith, meaning Holmes was not arrested after the incident Thursday, but will receive notice of the charge in the mail. The charge, possession of a small amount of marijuana, is punishable by up to a year in jail but probation or a fine is common in most cases.

Police said the 24-year-old Holmes acknowledged having marijuana when stopped and pointed out the blunts to officers. “We’re aware of what happened and are still gathering information at this time and will not comment,” Steelers spokesman Dave Lockett said Friday. Holmes and his agent have yet to release a comment, reports the Associated Press. The third-year player didn’t have his license when police stopped him around 4 p.m. near Mellon Arena, the home of hockey’s Pittsburgh Penguins.

Actor GARY BUSEY hit a low in his drug addiction days when he found himself snorting cocaine off his dog. The Big Wednesday star, who claims he has been sober for 13 years, couldn't help himself when his pet pooch rolled in a supply of the drug.

He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "I went in like a cropduster with my nose flying first and snorted the cocaine off the dog." But he got more than he bargained for: "You get a little bugs, you get little hairs, you get grease and goo from the ground; it's not at all a healthy thing to do. U.S Rep Vito Fossella found guilty of DUI!

After a daylong trial at Alexandria General District Rep. Vito Fossella was found guilty Friday of driving under the influence in an incident that prompted a sex scandal and cost the New York Republican his political career.

A Virginia state judge in Alexandria found Fossella, 43, guilty of running a red light and driving under the influence in May despite several witnesses who testified the congressman was not intoxicated the night of the incident.

Police who testified insisted he was intoxicated, citing an blood alcohol level of .17. Judge Becky Moore was uncertain about the accuracy of the breathalyzer test and said that the issue would be argued at the sentencing hearing.

Socialite NICOLE RICHIE is back behind the wheel a year after she was convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). The former Simple Life star's license was officially changed from 'suspended' to 'restricted' on 19 September (08), according to Los Angeles Department of Motor Vehicles records.

Richie served 82 minutes behind bars and had to undertake an 18-month anti-DUI course after she was caught driving the wrong way down a freeway ramp road. As a restricted license holder, Richie can now use her car for work-related activities.

HEATHER LOCKLEAR ARRESTED AND SPENDS THE NIGHT IN JAIL FOR DUI SUSPICION!

Two months after leaving an Arizona treatment facility, Heather Locklear was in police custody Saturday night. The actress, who had been battling anxiety and depression, was arrested and held in Santa Barbara County, according to the California Highway Patrol. No details of charges were yet available, and she was released Sunday. Locklear's rep had no comment.

UPDATE: Locklear, no longer in custody, was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and booked around 8 p.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Alex Tipolt of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department.

CHP spokesman, Tom Marshall, says the arresting officer noticed Locklear's car parked on a state highway and blocking a lane in Montecito, a wealthy community about 90 miles
northwest of Los Angeles.

Locklear was believed to be under the influence of prescription medication, but he did not know what kind, Marshall said. He says Locklear was not under the influence of alcohol.

Locklear was released on her own recognizance, without having to post bail.

The 47-year-old actress is best known for television shows such as " Melrose Place" and "Spin City."

Her arrest could set up a bizarre custody battle given that Locklear and ex-husband Richie Sambora have both been busted on similar charges.

Sambora pleaded no contest to DUI back in March. His daughter Ava was in the car at the time he was popped. Locklear's children reportedly were not in the car when she was arrested.

In June, Locklear checked herself into an Arizona medical facility to fight anxiety and depression.

George Michael arrested over drugs possession.

English singer songwriter George Michael has been arrested by police after he was caught in a public bathroom with crack cocaine in his possession.

Michael was caught when passers-by, who saw him hanging around the toilet of a notorious gay cruising haunt at 10 in the morning, reported the incident to the police.

The singer, who was found to be in a 'confused state' and wondering around near Hampstead Heath, North London, was detained for five hours by cops for questioning on September 19 as they suspected him of having taken drugs.

"It's not clear how long he'd been there as the loos are locked for the night," the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

Cops searched the singer and found two substances on him, crack cocaine and cannabis.

Though he was not charged, Michael, 45, agreed to take an official caution, which will put the whole incident on file.

"He was found with crack and cannabis," a pal of the star said.

"It's sad to see him in such a state he's been held for drugs before, but I've never heard of him using crack.

"That's not good. He seems to have a self-destruct button which he can't help pressing," the pal added.

The police issued a statement regarding the arrest, and confirmed that there were no charges.

"I can confirm that a 45-year-old man was arrested in the Hampstead Heath area on September 19 on suspicion of possession of drugs," a Met Police spokesman said.

"He was taken to a North London police station where he accepted an official caution and was released with no further action. The drugs were Class A and Class C," the spokesman added.

A spokesman for the singer was not available for comment last night.
